1940s Hand Printed Indian Cotton Sarong Dress

Guaranteed to make jaws drop… An especially unusual custom made 1950s hand blocked Indian soft cotton strapless sarong cocktail dress… Made for “An Original by Herman’s - Key West & Palm Beach Florida!” Made out if imported Indian hand printed cotton, it’s very soft and drapes beautifully. This piece was custom-made, so I do believe it is one of a kind. Made with the most impeccable tailoring standards, fully boned strapless bodice with a built-in front inner bustier. Strapless sweetheart bodice in a crisscross style, nipped defined wasp waist, draped sarong style skirt that’s completely cut in the bias. I love how the pattern matches up. And these colors, so rich and vibrant, even more so in person. Back metal zipper with double hook and eye closures. Talk about an exotic beauty! 🤯 Seriously, she’s a work of art. Very Hawaiian in style, as many ‘resort wear’ pieces out of Florida in the 1950s were.
