Crisp red raw cotton (nubby like raw silk) 1950s hourglass cocktail dress with huge gold metal buttons and 3D peplum by “Gigi Young New York,” the sister label to “Suzy Perette.” Does this piece make you think of new look era Dior? There’s a good reason for that. The Perette / Young labels gained the rights in the 1950s to copy many iconic Dior haute couture designs. Back metal zipper with hook and eye, the back peplum buttons up with hidden snaps. The bodice is fully lined in cotton voile. The peplum has a built-in white tulle crinoline to give it its 3D shape. Slim tapered pencil skirt underneath. So chic!
