1960s "Elinor Gay Original" 2-Tone Woven Cotton Op-Art Psychedelic Maxi Dress
Trip out on this op-art beauty!
Original late 1960s woven thicker cotton hand-printed black and white op-art motif maxi dress by “Elinor Gay Original!” If you look at Jean Paul Gaultier's 1990s “Cyberbaba” collection- it looks SO similar it’s crazy! Back talon zipper with hook and eye closure. V neckline with radiating pleats coming from the center of the shelf bust. Slight empire waist cut with extremely full maxi skirt. The cotton is a soft but thicker texture with a large fishnet raised pattern. I just love this hand printed motif, very 1960s op art. A very chic yet comfortable piece to wear, reminds me of something you would have seen in a Slim Aaron’s photo from Palm Springs back in the day.
