1980s Stretch Cotton Surrealist Cocktail Dress Inspired by Man Ray's "Le Violon d'Ingres"
What a fabulous piece! Original 1980s blackest stretch cotton hourglass backless cocktail dress inspired by Man Ray's famous work, "Violon d'Ingres." The Violon d'Ingres depicts the nude back of Kiki de Montparnasse, the French model, actress and nightclub singer who permeated and helped shape Parisian culture of the 1920s. This dress features the same violin characteristics, embroidered in metallic gold thread on the rear. Tie sash that cinches the waist in and ties at the abdomen in the front. Such an unusual and especially sensual piece, guaranteed to turn heads!
