Documented 1954 “Ceil Chapman” Silk Organza Sculptural Ruffled Party Dress
Documented 1954 “Ceil Chapman” Silk Organza Ruffled Party Dress
An extremely special piece, documented being worn by the model Jean Patchett circa 1954. I have sold many dresses by this label, but this is the one that I always wanted to get my hands on. Made out of the most beautiful glowing blush pink silk organza, intricately hand stitched into those 3-D wave pleats. Fully lined in silk. The skirt has a built in semi-stiff felt layer so it holds its shape beautifully. The bodice has built in boning, side metal zipper with hook and eye closure. The wide neckline sits on the tips of your shoulders. 3-D pleated shelf bust, princess seam fitted midsection, nipped defined wasp waist, and extremely full circle skirt. This would be stunning as a bridal piece. A very rare gem for the most discerning vintage collector.
