RARE 1950s "Tobi of California" Stretchy Hourglass Embellished Jumpsuit w/ Removable Straps

A rare bird indeed! This piece comes from lovely Palm Springs, from the estate of the original owner, which of course I love! It is that fabulous stretchy matte satin spandex blend that they did in the late 1950s for the first time. Back thick metal zipper with hook and eye closure, removable straps. Built in bra area, so no bra is needed. Hand embellished in silver lurex and metallic black soutache, pearls, and rhinestones. Very stretchy and extremely comfortable. If you are familiar with the 1950s Ceeb of Miami jumpsuits, this is exactly like that. Tobi was a label exactly like Ceeb, that also specialized in swimwear. A true glamour girl piece, these in themselves are extremely rare, even more so in a size like this and such fabulous condition!
